change of season.

the time arrived. bowling season came and went. and wbm remained undefeated. luckily, we have some great friends who attended our banquet we threw ourselves at cici's pizza. we gave out awards, had the presentation of the bowling balls, and shared a slideshow of all the season highlights.

only in texas.

would this conversation ever take place:

cici's pizza: (man with accent answers) cici's pizza, can i help you?
me: hi, yeah, i just wanted to let y'all know that about 10-12 of us will be showing up around 7:30. and i was also wondering if it's okay to bring balloons?
cici's: no.
me: ....okay, well is it okay to bring my laptop?
cici's: no
(pause)
me: i'm sorry, but is there anything i can bring?
(pause)
cici's: hmmm?
(pause)
me: i'm sorry, but do you understand what i am asking?
cici's: no. i don't speak english.

holi. holi. holi.

saturday we attended the holi festival of colors. compared to the utah celebration (which is the largest in the western hemisphere) it was tiny, but for the same reason i enjoyed it that much more. it was just a small community celebration at a local park, where indian music was played throughout the day and upon entering the park no one hesitated to greet you by wiping color on your face while saying, "happy holi." i danced bollywood style for hours on end, which has been overdue since gold's wedding. i felt at home, and  temporarily a part of this community. the happiness was infectious and you couldn't help but join in throwing colors on people of all ages. thanks texas. you've done it again.

blue&yellow.

happy leap day!

remember that today is the day of endless possibilities and nothing counts against you!

and you better believe that i am sporting navy slacks and a yellow sweater...even with the 78 degree weather and with the color yellow drowning out my complexion. now that is what i call business.

ps. due to religious observance i am leaving work early.
