lasting.

i happened upon this woman and her family in the middle of nowhere in namibia. i ended up spending an afternoon with them and laughing harder than i could have ever imagined. they opened their hearts and home to me and only asked in return that i send them pictures so that they could remember that delightful day. in my typical manner, i mailed them a year or so later...and two years later i received an e-mail from her daughter, who is at university...and two additional years later, my heart is still warmed when i get an e-mail from her. it's times like these that i feel indebted to our technological progression.
