roommates.

i have a really superb one...and she doesn't mind it when i decide that it's a great idea to dress like a cowgirl and show up to her friends' parties dressed up as such. in fact, she is rather encouraging of such behavior...watch out world...

weekend visitors...

...are the best. it makes me wish that weekends never ended.

also, it's been decided that my new glasses make me look like a turtle. this may or may not have to do with the fact that they have tourtise shell frames, or it could just simply be that i look like i turtle. pictures will be posted in the near future...

hey there mr. postman.

you have delighted me all week with treats:
  • my first "real simple" magazine subscription delivery (a one year subscription was on sale at amazon for only $5! what a deal!)
  • my glasses from hong kong, which ended up being too big and have caused me to look like a cartoon character all week (at least it has been a hit with the kids)
  • ever so delightful duct taped letters
  • my mom FINALLY sending me my own, original pair of glasses
  • an invite to my grandmother's friend's housewarming party!
  • and finally, last, but not least, these arrived (drumroll please...):
aren't they beautiful??!!! i forgot how wonderful these boots really are. i have be anxiously awaiting these beauts for the last 3 weeks, and oh brother, was it ever worth the wait. in case you are wondering, i have been wearing them all evening, and will be wearing them tomorrow as well...and yes, that includes work.

curb check.

i don't know if it's the oversized glasses messing with my depth perception, but today has been a very difficult day shared between me and the curbs. whoops.

watch out please. if you see someone driving a toyota corolla wearing oversized glasses, that's not a 68-year-old woman...it's just me...looking like one. have a good day.

i finally gave in...

...and let the cat in. see, i really do have a heart. how could you ever say 'no' to a kitty this cute?

Please stay Kay.

It is going to be quite the year in Texas politics. I wish I was still registered to vote in that great state, so I could place my vote in the gubernatorial primary for her. She was my Senator for a number of years, and listened to my whining about my qualms with China and Tibet, and I think it's time Texans welcomed her back. Let her show Rick Perry the door.

Learn more about her and her campaign here.

PS...I don't like getting political on here, but really, this is such an exciting election for all Texans, and I am sad that I can't take a more active role.

PPS...I am really hoping my cowgirl boots arrive soon...

in the raw.

a while back, i pledged my undying fellowship to whole milk. well, seasons have changed and i am turning over new leaf. yesterday, i purchased my first half gallon of raw milk. yes, that would be straight from the cow and into my mouth....well kind of...it does go through a filter and is chilled for my delight, and boy, is it ever a delight! in fact, when i was asking the gentleman at the farmers' market more about their milk and how it tastes, he ecstatically replied, "just like deliciousness!" i was sold.

moral of the story: if you have the chance to indulge in raw milk. do it.

now, who wants to ride bikes?

similar artists

this past sunday morning, i was too lazy to open my itunes, so i opted to stream the mormon tabernacle choir radio on last.fm, which features a collection of similar artists of the choir. the first song was a beautiful sunday hymn performed by the choir. what was the radio's first simillar artist, and second song featured on the radio? "menomena," performed by rawlph and the rest of the muppet gang. and you know what...i didn't even bother to change the song. best similar artist radio i have ever listened to. i hope more sundays like this occur.

ccr.gov

for some reason typing in that web address instilled some false hope that the "ccr" would not stand for central contractor registration, but instead refer to creedence clearwater revival, and president obama's love for john fogerty would be displayed for all the world to see, and i could jam out all day on ccr sponsored by our government...oh if only i ran the world...what little treasures we would find!

who wants to have a risky business dance party?

...there maybe one going on in my office...right now. okay, but really, i am just taunting my legs, which have been itching to dance for weeks, with listening to songs for your feetzzzz mixes. for now, tapping my feet to the beat will have to do. but be forewarned, if i suddenly break out dancing and you find me me on top of my desk waving my hands in the air like i just don't care, i cannot be held responisible.

i should really learn to read the fine print.

upon reviewing the details for my hula class, which starts this evening, i realized that the age group for my class is from 10 to 65, with only 4 people registered. i can't decide which would be better...a class of 10 year olds or 65 year olds....

p.s. more pictures from recent adventures will be posted...promise...
