I'll take global warming...
...if it means that I get to keep my air conditioning. Otherwise, I don't think I could survive this Texas heat.
In other news, I mailed some pictures to a family in Africa, and 2 years later they arrived. At least they eventually got to them...

mr. troy dungan:
i know that you have been retired from reporting the weather for 2 years now, but i would like to encourage you to come out of retirement, and report some beautiful weather while i am in texas.
i am pretty sure your bow ties are magical, and will be able to turn the weather from 103 with thunder storms to 88 and sunny. i will even take the 103 sans thunder storms. please make the rain go away. i am tired of always bringing the rain with me to texas.
love,
probably your youngest fan

Requited Love
Today, as I was organizing and packing items, I found this:
Which reminded me of this:

The Resurrection of the Music Video
Now, I am really not too keen on music videos, but as of late I have had some really great ones come my way. I think this one is my favorite:
Not only is it a great music video, but it's also a song I would like to drive with my windows down and sing along at the top of my lungs to.
...I may have already listened to it a few more times while I study too.

A Night at the Symphony...
...with Final Fantasy! It really was as magical as it sounds.
Other highlights of yesterday include:
- spending time at BGCA.
- reading the Stinky Cheese Man to the kids...and saying, "I am the Stinky Cheese Man!!!" in unison. It kind of reminded me of Kindergarton cop.
- Imri picking me up in his new car, and driving with the windows down sharing funny stories.
- Seeing the Gee family downtown.
- Enjoying beautiful music from a video game I have never played performed by the Seattle Symphony.
- Seeing Imri's face light up everytime a song from Final Fantasy VIII was performed.
- Crawling underneath my covers in my new room, and sleeping a pleasent slumber.

odds and bookends
Last night I finally began to move into my room, and thanks to the wonderful Imri, I now have my shelves and pictures up...lest we forget my college degree...What else are you supposed to do with it?
I have been scouring the Internet looking for the perfect set of bookends for my shelves. Apparently all people like are having bookends that also serve as frames, which doesn't make complete sense because the pictures are inserted on the sides and do not even face the front. A few other trends that do not make sense to me are the brass leaning men...the joke expired 200 years ago... and the agate rock bookend.
I did, however find one set that I want oh, so bad:
So if you would like to donate to the fund of Erin's Perfect Bookends, please contact me for details...

22 days and counting...
...until I am here:
Family is superb, isn't it?
Then it will be off to Austin/San Marcos/everything in between. And then it is off to see:
Family is superb, isn't it?
My trip also includes Barton Springs, Schlitterbahn, tubing the Guadalupe, and to top it off...the Scott Family Reunion.
Let's hope I pack enough sunscreen...

Burning Down the House...
And, boy did he ever. Not only did he play a phenomenal show, as was expected, but he also had a surprise accompanying him with his encore...just a half naked marching band...no big deal. Mom, you would be proud. What did they play? Just the most fitting song possible: Buring Down the House.
Does anyone know if he did this anywhere else?
