Back and Ready for More

Seattle. Vacation. Amazing.

So, for a while now, I have been trying to figure out what is going to be next for me. I have had numerous opportunities open up for me, and I have been toying with a number of them, but for the first time, I feel really right about this one. I am headed to Seattle. Only one thing stands between me and that beautiful city, a job. Know of one? If so, let me know, because I am so ready for this jelly.

Other than that, I have been basking in the sun when its around. Monday was spent on my bike. All day. This explains why my arms are burnt.

Now my life consists of work, sending out my resume and cleaning. I am having visitors tomorrow night, which will be nice. My house is slowly becoming a hotel for traveling bands, but I am more than okay with that. I like to to hear about their adventures.

In the mean time I am overly excited for this:

I am now counting down the days that I can buy tickets for this show. EEK!

"You seem like the kind of person that get's asked weird questions all the time..."

Yes, thank you. That was an actual comment that was made to me today. I think this woman made my day, if not my week.

So, my friend, Chelsea, and I were at the Red Box at the Albertson's near the laundry mat, which is on the other side of town as me, and we were taking a while with our selection. I turned around to find a woman, between the ages of 36-40, waiting for us to finish, I apologized assuming she was waiting to use the machine as well. When we finished, she goes, "I have a funny question and favor to ask you." And I replied with asking what she needed.

She then explained how her boyfriend had just texted her asking her to send a picture of her "butt" and asked if I could take a picture of her rear with her camera phone. I chuckled a bit, giving her time to tell me it was joke. I soon learned that it was not a joke and then agreed, because it took a lot of guts for her to ask some random person at the grocery store for a favor of that measure. While I was in the midst of taking this picture with her phone, she received a second message from her boyfriend which stated, "naked works too." I was slightly surprised and appalled all at once, as this "sexting" culture that I had recently heard about on CNN is not even close to my normal dealings. I didn't even know that these naughty things took place before I saw the segment a little over a week ago.

I then jokingly said that he would just have to wait for that kind of picture for later. She embarrassingly laughed in response. So I took the photo, and after, she wanted to engage in small talk with me to put her nerves at ease I suppose. She explained how she had walked through the entire store for about 5 minutes, looking for someone to ask, that would not think she was weird and be creeped out. Apparently I was the lucky one. She then stated the title of this blog: "You seem like the kind of person that get's asked weird questions all the time..." As soon as she finished the sentence, Chelsea chimed in with, "Oh yeah, all the time. She has weird situations like everyday. " And the woman said, "Yeah, she seems like that kind of person."

After taking the time to think about it, I will take it as a compliment. It is nice to be considered approachable and open-minded. I think most people would have been bothered by being approached by such a woman, but to be honest, it was one of the funniest things that have happened to me in a long time. Thank you mystery woman, I hope you and your boyfriend of only one week have many more weeks to share with each other.

2 keys lost 2 days left.

so yesterday i had quite the scare. i couldn't find my store keys for the entire evening. i have a tendency to place things in various places, which breaches from my normal habit, when i get stressed, and then i can't find them. i spent the entire evening looking for them, finally when i gave up and decided that i would just wait until this morning and i would go to sleep, i found them. hidden in my bed. i am still frazzled and do not know how this could be as i had stripped my bed of all of its blankets and pillows earlier when i was searching for the keys, but alas, i am grateful they were there.

then this morning i left my car keys in the waiting room chair at the dentist's office and left my wallet in the car at the local drug store. i think this just means that i am stressed and NEED at vacation. this is something that i no longer want but NEED. i only have 2 more days until i will be eating my in flight peanuts and sipping on my ginger ale on the way to seattle!

in other news, i now accept my passage into adulthood when you have employees trusting you with information that is way beyond my comprehension of what i could deal with in life. i have had a couple of incidences over the past few days where people have told me, "i don't know why i am sharing this with you, but i just saw you and i knew that i could trust you." this is both in and out of work. i feel blessed and humbled. i truly love those around me. now its time to love seattle. 2 days!
